Dividing wall for dining area
I thought this was a nice use of space and color to create a separate space in a small apartment for the dining area. The little partition wall gives a break which allows for a dark color on the wall and makes the dining area a little more cozy. I like the white molding and wood color on the flooring too.

There is a short wall that borders the west side of the dinning area that could be used for this purpose. Another approach for you to consider is a white wall with a large and very colorful modern art painting hung on it. A bright accent light in the ceiling could make the painting really pop! There may also be enough room to put a shallow sofa table along the wall as in the photo.
